Summary - Audio quality is excellent throughout, literally just a sample or two have a hint of background noise, no doubt from the original instrument rather than any defect in the recording process.

The samples could certainly have been grouped more sensibly, whilst its good that each track has its own category, why not group those that are very similar together, doesn't make much sense to me. Its a small gripe.

So what do we have, a sample CD crammed with synth sounds, you do get full value here, there is no demo track and over 78 minutes of samples. There is little of anything resembling a realistic instrument sound (not that a synth isn't realistic !), all artificial synthesised sounds. Many of which are excellent, there are a few rogue ones in there, but it is just a few. My only concern is how many of the sounds would actually be used, there are a lot of excellent sounding samples, but they are rather of the track dominating type, needing lots of space in a mix.

The CD doesn't really have a genre, most anyone making music will be able to make some use of the sounds on this CD. If your making ambient, space or trance music then maybe there will be more for you to use, but as a general library of synthesiser sounds then this is an excellent choice. This would make an ideal early purchase for someone with a basic setup - just a GM module or soundcard, or one of the dance packages around, to add some variety to their sonic arsenal.

The CD is particularly good value as it is presently discounted to budget price by Time & Space.

Overall - Excellent library sample CD for synthesiser sounds - 8/10.

This CD is also available on CD-Rom in PC .wav format.
