Summary - Audio quality, where there is little or no noise is fine, but way too many samples have a noise problem, not really bad, but noticeable. Wouldn't say any samples are totally unusable because of it, but you'll be looking to run these samples through some noise reduction software to get rid of some of it. The producers really should have taken a little more care at removing a lot of it.

The samples are laid out sensibly and grouped together as they should be, together with the very thorough inlay card, it makes tracking down samples straightforward. You get full value too, the CD is full right up with samples.

The CD is totally synthetic, nothing like real instruments here and is essentially genre less, anyone looking for synthesiser sounds will be able to make some use of the sounds on offer here. Ambient, soundtrack, space and sci-fi musicians will probably benefit the most, though most anyone looking for electronic sounds will be interested in the material here. If you've a number of synths already though I'd suggest that this CD is rather something of a luxury.

However I felt that as a whole I was a little disappointed with the CD, whilst there are many good samples, a few quite excellent, there are too many that are rather anonymous or rather unusable without a ton of processing on top. I recall when listening to the first CD in the series how many of the sounds I thought "yep, could use that", here that thought occurred hardly at all. Almost as if all the good sounds were used up with the first offering and this CD was made up of the left overs.

Bear in mind though that this CD is presently discounted to budget price by Time & Space.

Overall - A little bit disappointing. - buy volume 1 first - 5/10. If you can get it at budget price though 6/10.

This CD is also available on CD-Rom in PC .wav format.
