Ambient - Volume 2 Page 4 ../../%7Bshort%20description%20of%20image%7D

Summary. Audio quality throughout is quite excellent, I noticed background noise on literally just 2 samples and even one of those could have been part of the effect. Unusually the start points of some of the tracks is a little out in places, the track starting fractionally after the sound, it doesn't matter if your just previewing the CD but if your skipping to sample a specific sample at the beginning of an offending track its a bit of a pain.

I like the fact that the producer has taken the time to identify every sample, I don't like to spend a small fortune on one of these CD's and find a near useless inlay card.

Similar to the first volume you get quite a range of sounds here, though not as wide as the original, on the other hand you get more sounds of those that are included. This CD is full of pads and atmospheres many of which are excellent, the vocoder section like wise is excellent and there is a good range of orignal percussion sounds. The title "Ambient" is rather a misnomer, many of the sounds bear little resemblance to your typical "Ambient" track. This does widen the scope of use of the CD somewhat.

Some of the effects sounds aren't quite so good, indeed some are pretty awful, but then we're talking maybe only a percent or two of the entire CD and your never going to get a CD where you like every sound.

If you liked Ambient 1 then you'll like this volume as well, if your looking for a varied collection of electronic sounds then look no further than here.

Score. Thoroughly recommended - 8/10.
