Gota Yashiki - 12 Samples - There are 6 very long loops, (presented in 1-3 wav files on the CD-ROM section), that offer a little in variation as the loops progress. Though this is fairly subtle and there is little in the way of fills or crossovers, usually just an additional sound introduced. The drums sounds and playing are very tight and sound heavily gated, and you could easily believe were being played by a drum machine rather than a drummer, and vary in BPM from 88-117. A couple have a nice kind of "junk" percussion layer added as an effect which works well. A decent enough collection to kick off with.

Keith Leblanc - 32 samples - Here we have 10 long loops, presented in up to 8 variations. More natural sounding than the previous section, we also have more variation in the loops as they progress and more in the way of fills or crossovers. BPM's vary from 77-158 though seven are in the range 96-105 BPM. Quite open sounding makes these easier to fit into a mix. A couple of the loops, have fill effects to pad the loop out more, most distinctively track 16 - Kill Beat - which sounds out of place with the others, quite manic with a distorted kick drum. Be my pick though !

Drumhead - 8 samples - Shorter loops this time, mostly 4 bars, 6 of the loops are straightforward live kit sounding loops - with some gating effect, plus a "rock fill" and "conga loop".

Tony Mason - 5 samples - Big sounding short sedate loops from 64-89 BPM, very solid and powerful sounding loops. Not much else to say, very good.

Phil Gould - 10 samples - Back to the longer loops here, sounding quite mild as well, with some "funk" sounding fill effects give a sedate feel to these loops. Spread from 80-120 BPM, these loops have some variation and fill effects to make them more usable. It's always easier to construct a complete track from loops of this sort than when you just get a one or two bar loop. Track 24 must be only loop I've ever heard on a sample CD to fade out, unusual, and track 25 has a sort of "ethnic world" feel to it which is very effective, probably my pick from the CD.
