Summary - Audio quality is very good. There is little hint of any noise that isn't deliberate, some of the loops have an obvious "vinyl" feel to them as you would expect. There is a fair degree of processing applied to the loops, though not too much is extreme.

I'm a big fan of the AMG loops CD's and this is no exception. Whilst not quite as had edged and big sounding as some others it does have some edge, grit and bite in places, in others sounds a little more refined, but overall gives a very polished and professional impression. Whilst the number of loops on offer isn't great, the method used to present them, with multiple variations makes them easier to produce in to real tracks.

In an ideal world I'd have liked the CD-ROM version to have included the individual hits as well, though as this is effectively thrown in for free anyway one can hardly complain. In any event as the loop variations are presented separately here it makes it a cinch to introduce variations into a sequencer. Otherwise it's difficult of anything to say negatively about the release at all.

This CD will appeal to a lot of people, obviously those looking to produce harder edged trip hop/hip hop would be best suited, but anyone into lower tempo areas would be well advised to check this release as there is a lot of very usable material here, and I wouldn't be too put off by the "gritty lo-fi" beats bit at all.

It's probably not a first CD purchase as you would lead more material to produce anything approaching a compete track, but would make an excellent addition to a sample library if your looking for some quality loops. I wouldn't be surprised at to see some of these loops appearing on tracks in the charts at all.

Overall - Value for money 9.5/10 - Usability 9/10 - Documentation 6/10 - Sonic Quality 9/10. Top quality breakbeat sample CD - thoroughly recommenced 9/10.
