Summary - Audio quality is good. Being sampled from real life machines in the main there is some background noise here and there, more so on the "Toolscapes", a couple of which are quite noisy, which may or may not add to an ambience effect. It's in no way intrusive though and certainly in the main adds to the industrial type effect. There is some effecting of samples, but generally the sounds of the machines sounds as you would expect with out excessive processing. There are a few sounds that seem over reverb soaked for my liking but that's just a personal taste.

It's certainly a value for money package, with the dual mono format I expect there is upwards of a 100 minutes of samples here. Unfortunately the dual mono format does make it difficult to preview the sounds properly, you'll need quite a bit of skipping back and forth and left/right balance twiddling to fully appreciate the sounds on offer. I think making the package a 2CD affair or cutting out the demo track and reducing the number of samples slightly would have made the CD more user friendly.

Of the three areas of the CD the loops section is certainly the most useful, if you looking to add an unusual element to a loop, or build up an industrial type loop here you'll find lots of material and inspiration here. The range of sounds and loops is very comprehensive and would certainly make a useful addition to many peoples sound library. As the loops really are genreless it would be of benefit to many styles of music, not just the industrial type tracks, not to mention producers of multimedia, games or film soundtracks.

The Hits & Toolscapes sections are a bit more hit and miss, whilst the hits section contains all the sounds from the loops section there is no way of knowing where they are, otherwise as a general collection of industrial hits they are fine. The toolscapes section again is a bit hit and miss, if your looking for a specific spot effect again you may find it here but you'll have to trawl through the whole section to find out.

This certainly isn't the sort of CD that I would recommend as an early purchase, you'll need other material to produce anything resembling a complete track but as an addition to an collection it can certainly be recommended if your looking for the sort of industrial sounds that the collection offers.

Overall - Value for money 10/10 - Usability 4/10 - Documentation 4/10 - Sonic Quality 7/10 .Add an industrial edge to your tracks - 7/10
