Dance/Industrial 1 Page 4/4 ../../%7Bshort%20description%20of%20image%7D

Summary. Audio quality throughout is excellent, I didn't notice noise anywhere.

Lets get the gripe over with first, for a full price CD this is quite short just over 52 minutes, so there would have been plenty of space for some more material here. I like the MIDI file approach, adds a whole lot of flexibility, wish that the producers had taken more of the complete loops from the first section and deconstructed them in the middle area and included the MIDI files for them, the loops are all original so the resources would have been there.

If you buy this CD and are looking to make Industrial music then I feel your going to be a bit let down, the title is a bit of a misnomer - 26 loops and 29 individual sounds do not an industrial music sampling CD make, would really have expected a lot more of this sort of material plus some of the deconstructed section to have warranted the "Industrial" name. What is there is good, but there just isn't a lot.

Now on the plus side the loops are good, there is a lot of flexibility and the collection of kicks and snares is excellent. If your looking to make mainstream dance music then this is an excellent source for the rhythm section of your music and I would definitely recommend this CD. There is material here from which you can make an instant loop from, play around with the MIDI section to produce something original or build from scratch with the individual sounds.

If your making music away from mainstream dance then there is still material here you can use, the kick and snare drums give you an excellent source of these sounds, and you can take the MIDI loops and manipulate these to your style, its also quite an interesting exercise to see how these loops are actually constructed.

Overall - Mainstream dance maker - 8/10, making industrial ? - 7/10, other genres - 6/10.

Note. This CD is also available on Akai and Samplecell format CD-ROM.
