Pete's Drums Loops:- The first dozen tracks are given over to loops, 86 to be precise. They vary in tempo from 91 to 157 BPM, though most are in the 110-130 bracket and four bars in length. The loops, bar one, sound acoustic, quite open and pretty hard. Snares punchy and kicks tight, they'll cut through nigh on any mix. Most of the loops sound fairly similar as there isn't a great variance in the drums sounds producing the loops. They sound like an accomplished drummer sitting there playing, rather than a clever act of programming with 15 sounds.

If you looking for your standard fare of 808 and 909 loops you'll find nothing here, but if your looking for a more natural sounding heavy sounding dance loops then you'll find something you'll like here.

Gated FX - 6 tracks with 40 samples - Each is given a BPM which is helpful. These stuttering effects can be useful in many styles of music and there are some very good examples here, a few include vocals though by definition they're used more of an effect than for anything intelligible. Some of these FX remind me very strongly of the Prodigy circa - Jilted Generation, which is high praise.

Many of these FX are heavily effected, and would work well in several styles of music, Industrial, Drum & Bass, Techno for starters. There are a number here that could very easily form the backbone of an excellent heavy dance track, several examples on Track 17 in particular. There are a few rough sounding ones, that wander off into squelchy squealing land, but if you are looking for this stuttering effect you will find something you can use here.

SH-101 Riffs - 2 tracks with 9 samples - I've got one of these and mine doesn't sound much like these !. Effected loops, quite powerful sounding for riffs or bass lines. Several go rather overboard with the screeching effect, but the others are OK.

Dub FX - 5 tracks - Assorted powerful stabs, synthetic hits, noises, echo effects, sonar like effects, whooshes and the like for dropping into tracks. Some of these aren't to be listened to if you have a headache. Most of these are attention grabbing sounds that wouldn't sit quietly in your mix of a track, if your looking for that kind of effect then there is quite some material here. Not the strongest part of the CD, rather a few "how could I actually use that" sort of sounds.
