Summary. Sonic quality throughout is excellent, there is very little background noise except in a few cases which I suspect is caused purely from the synthesisers being recorded from rather than any fault of the recording process. There is no kit list mentioned, though some of the descriptions of the sounds indicate their origin, all classic analogue gear, Roland 100M, Korg MS 20 a Yamaha (CS80 maybe ?), AKS and 700S. To me the whole CD sounds like it is made up throughout of purely analogue sounds, though I wouldn't guarantee this.

If your a fan of the Kraftwerk style and want to make music in a similar vein then this is a must buy, there is everything you need here to make tracks right out "Man Machine" or any other of the Kraftwerk albums circa 1975-80. You might wish to spread your choice of sounds a little wider than just this CD to introduce a hint of originality but the buildings blocks are all here. You could certainly build numerous excellent tracks from this CD.

If your not a fan of the genre then the use of this CD would be a little less, and you would probably wish to do more manipulation and processing of the sounds, but there is still here a wide ranging collection of samples of analogue machines of the style circa 1975-80. Many of these could find uses in almost any type of electronic music. There are little in the way of pad type samples, but if your looking for short sequences, blips, squelches, bass sounds or electronic percussion sounds then you could do worse than look here for that something a little different than the mainstream.

All in all Komputer have set out to produce a sample CD within a specific genre, and to this end they have succeeded admirably.

Score. If your looking to make tracks in the mould of Kraftwerk - 9/10, if your looking to make tracks of another genre 7/10.
