Summary - Audio quality is excellent throughout with no detectable noise. The loops aren't over powerful, being in tune with the laidback style of the collection. You may need to use some effects or EQ to have the sounds standout in a mix if thats your intention. One thing I did notice when testing on a Kurzweil sampler was that some of the loops after they finished ended in computer like white noise, it doesn't affect using the samples at all, and is almost certainly a defect of the Kurzweil reading the Akai format than any problem with the programming. Almost loath to mention this as its the only negative part about the whole review !

What can I say except if your looking for these kinds of loops then get this CD. The samples on offer aren't going to be to everyone's taste, this is very much a niche product. If your into drum and bass or looking for staple 808/909 style loops your going to be sadly disappointed. However if your looking for a selection of slow tempo, solidly played live drum loops then you can't go wrong here.

The only problem with this kind of budget offering is that it leaves you wishing that there was more variety, more loops, more variations, more individual sounds, but that very much is the nature of the beast.

Overall - If "Laidback" is your style, thoroughly recommended 9/10.
