Summary - Audio quality is excellent. There is no hint of noise, looping or glitches. Perhaps to my ears the final sustain level is too high, if you press a key down for 30 seconds it just sounds a bit loud, its hardly a problem though ! Just on principle have to find something a bit negative to say.

What can I say, the samples on the CD sound stunning. I cannot believe that it is possible to produce a more authentic sounding piano than with these samples. I apologise for the lack of more description, the samples simply, though by virtue of an immense amout of work, sound just like a very good piano.

The only downside is that you have to have the equipement to make the best use of the samples, what people will do no doubt is load up the largest volume that fits into their setup. So what your paying for really is just a few volumes, with the promise that if you haven't the equipment now to load the 32Mb, 64Mb or 128Mb volumes, when you do, you have some sounds ready to justify the purchase.

Who should get this ?, anyone who needs totally authentic Steinway grand piano samples. They are a level above anything that can be created on on a synthesizer, and short of shipping in the actual thing, can't be bettered. If the piano sound is important to the music you make you should seriously consider this collection.

Overall - If you want the sound and you have the equipment this is as good as you can presently get 10/10.
