K-Class - Soundisc Series
Page 3/4

Keyboards - 19 samples - Sub divided into four sub groups, Electric Piano, Organ, Piano and Synths. Electric piano just has two samples, both around a minute long, an organ like loop and a much higher pitch jazz like piano riff.

The organ sounds, nice and up temp, the "cranky whirl" features a quite pronounced whirl sound, which is interesting, though not to everyone's taste I'm sure.

The Piano sounds are, uptempo, house style electric piano type riffs. Very suitable for the style. The synth samples are more of the same really, though with a wider variety of sounds, mostly uptempo, quite high pitched, but of the organ/piano feel.

Many of the loops though do sound a little similar, although with differing sounds, a little more variety wouldn't have gone amiss.

Kicks - 10 samples - Just a variety of kick drums, ideal for the underpinning of a track, very straightforward solid sounds and loops, but that's how kick drums should be for this kind of music.

Lead Synths - 19 samples - Very good collection of assorted synth lines, not searing lead lines, but arpeggio type loops, great variety of sounds, nice movement within them to keep interest, just ideal for fleshing out a dance track. "Spooky" and "Thiquid" being by picks, but there are no rough ones here, my favourite part of the CD.

Pads - 5 samples - String/glass like pads, quite sharp sounding and distinctive. Not quiet underpins for sure, but big loud chord pad samples.

Percussion - 5 samples - Little collection of odd percussive effects, chimes, sticks, toms, just to add some variety to the percussive element of a track.

Rhythmic FX - 10 samples - More synthetic rhythmic elements, synth tapping like noises, scratches, synth toms, synth noises ideal for adding an obviously synthetic percussive element to a track.

Snares - 8 samples - Variety of snare sounds and patterns, from quite light sounding, from very hard and tight, to Rim Verb, which sounds a bit like a saucepan being hit, apologies to the no doubt famous drum sound ! Very good anyway !

Sound FX - 7 samples - Weird like synth effects, winds, drips and noise, booms and laser effects. Good for adding a spot effect to a track.

Strings - 4 samples - High pitched loud string sounds, not so far from the pad sounds, sound very good, though could sound out of place without care in the mix.

Vocals - 11 samples - Variety of female vocal snippets, heavily effected, usual dance like phrases, "Be with me", "I just want to let you", It's all right" etc. Some of the sounds though are so heavily effected to only just about be a distant relative of a normal vocal !. Do sound a little cheesy, but do fit in well with the sounds on the CD I must confess.
